In 1904 it was first developed and since then this beautiful garden has grown into 55 acres of wonderful horticulture. Be sure to visit the Sunken Garden as well as the Rose Garden on your visit. There are five seasons at the gardens and each showcases a different variety of flowers and colours. Another unique opportunity to visit is the Pacific Undersea Gardens. Scuba dive into the Inner Harbour and swim upon many different species of underwater animals and plant life. Come face to face with octopuses or even an eel!

Looking to experience history? Take a guided tour at the Fort Rodd Hill and Fisgard Lighthouse. The fort is an old artillery fortress that helped to protect Victoria from 1878 to 1956. The Fisgard Lighthouse was the first built in 1860 and was the first permanent lighthouse on the western coast of Canada. During your visit, be sure to take a look at the exhibits and videos that are shown in the lighthouse. Scuba diving is a good activity in around the waters of the Fisgard Lighthouse and these history monuments provide good backgrounds to any scenic photo.

There are a wide variety of theatre productions offered in Victoria. Other theatrical performances include Canadian originals at the Belfry Theatre, and Phoenix Theatre student theatre at the University of Victoria.

While on your stay in Victoria be sure to take a whale watching adventure.  Each tour is on a small boat and has a biologist who gives a commentary along the way.  To make sure the whales are nearby, a hydrophone is always equipped on the boats, in order to hear the whale’s voices. This amazing experience is only offered from the end of April to the end of October.  If you want to take in more of the spectacular views of Victoria, visit the Beacon Hill Park.  This park is full of natural beauty and is a heaven for nature enthusiasts. The Great Blue Heron and many other species of animals nest here and call this place home. Beacon Hill Park provides space for a miniature golf course, and even a petting zoo.
