ITINERARY:

DAY 1 - Toronto to Algonquin Park

After a morning pick up in Toronto and a leisurely drive through the heart of Ontario farmland and cottage country you will have lunch on the shores of Rock Lake in Algonquin Park. With the "Expedition Weight" Kevlar canoes you will paddle into Pen Lake, an interior lake of the park. After a 3-hour paddle, arrive at camp. Since this is a true interior wilderness camp you will have to bring everything with you, including the tents. Once you establish camp, you are free to explore the area. Dinner will consist of fresh food, prepared on site, and enjoyed by the side of a blazing campfire! This is real Canadian camping!

DAY 2 - Algonquin Park

Today, you will explore the meandering river. After a short portage past an old dam used for logging, you will paddle the slow moving waters of the South Madawaska River.

DAY 3 - Algonquin Park

After breakfast, roll up your tent, pack up your gear, load the canoes, and paddle out for a new camp. There are several small portages and 3 lakes to cross. The destination is Galeairy Lake, a beautiful lake on the east edge of Algonquin Park. After finding a nice campsite, you will enjoy a relaxing dinner.

DAY 4 - Algonquin Park to Toronto

After a traditional Canadian breakfast (back bacon and eggs, fresh fruits, or pancakes with real maple syrup) pack up camp and start the journey home.
