Also included is a trip along the beautiful River Road, which winds its way along the Niagara Gorge. Stops are made at the Floral Clock and at the historical community of Niagara-on-the-Lake before returning to Toronto.

DAY 3, 4 & 5 - VIA Rail's 'Canadian' from Toronto to Jasper

Today is free day to enjoy Toronto. Transfer to Toronto’s Union Station this evening (transfer not included) and board VIA Rail’s “Canadian” for your journey to Jasper. Travel through the provinces of Ontario, Manitoba and Saskatchewan before entering the province of Alberta and the resort town of Jasper. For the next two days, continue your journey through rugged Northern Ontario to Winnipeg and the Great Central Plains. A full breakfast, lunch and dinner are included onboard the train each day.

DAY 6 - Arrival into Jasper

Conclude the final leg of your trip to Jasper by travelling through Edmonton towards the majestic Rocky Mountains. Breakfast and lunch are once again included onboard the train today. Upon arrival at the Jasper train station, transfer to your selected hotel (transfer included).

DAY 7 - Exploring Jasper

An introduction to Jasper will encompass some outstanding scenery including Medicine Lake and Maligne Canyon, with its narrow gorge and limestone walls reaching 50 metres (164 feet) below, the deepest canyon in Jasper National Park. Continue via the incredible disappearing Medicine Lake and then Maligne Lake (one of the most photographed lakes in the world). Once onboard the tour boat, begin a 90-minute cruise heading toward the south end of this postcard setting. Marvel at the magnificent shoreline with dense forests and glacial peaks rising abruptly from the water’s edge. A photography stop at the much acclaimed Spirit Island highlights the scenic wonders of this cruise. Return to Jasper, where the remainder of the day is at leisure.

DAY 8 - Jasper to Lake Louise

Today’s journey travels south along the famous Icefields Parkway, one of the most spectacular highways in North America. This excursion to Lake Louise also takes you through Jasper and Banff National Parks with a stop at the Columbia Icefield allowing time for a Brewster Ice Explorer tour onto the icy slopes of the Athabasca Glacier. This excursion allows you to travel in a specially designed Brewster Ice Explorer to the middle of the glacier while the driver/guide explains how the glaciers are formed and points out interesting geological features (Ice Explorer included). The ice is 365 metres (1,200 feet) thick – about the height of the Empire State Building. At the icefall below the glacial headwall, take the option of stepping out onto the ice formed from snow that fell 400 years ago. After your unique ice adventure, time is allowed at the Columbia Icefield Centre, to relax over lunch (not included) and visit the new and expanded Parks Canada Interpretive Centre. In the afternoon, continue to Lake Louise, the “Jewel of the Rockies.”

DAY 9 - Lake Louise to Banff

Depart Lake Louise this afternoon and travel into the scenic Yoho National Park and over the Continental Divide. Some of today’s highlights include Takakkaw Falls (one of the highest in the world), Emerald Lake and the Spiral Tunnels at the Kicking Horse Pass. Travel over the Kicking Horse Canyon and stop at the Natural Rock Bridge that spans the Kicking Horse River. Continue onto Banff after the tour and be dropped off at your hotel.

Later, take a ride (included) on a gondola car to the top of Sulphur Mountain. Enjoy a 360º panorama of a sea of mountain ranges, valleys, lakes and a bird’s eye view of the Banff townsite, 770 metres (2526 feet) below. Upon arrival in Kamloops, you will be transferred (included) to your hotel.

DAY 12 - Rocky Mountaineer's 'Redleaf' service from Kamloops to Vancouver
