ITINERARY:

DAY 1 - Calgary to Banff

Upon arrival at the Calgary International Airport, pick up your rental car and drive to Banff in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. Here you will have the remainder of your day to explore this amazing town, and check into the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel. Perhaps take a leisurely stroll down to the famous Bow Falls or head out to Tunnel Mountain Drive for some beautiful views of the townsite.

DAY 2 - Exploring Banff

Today you will be whisked away to the summit of Sulphur Mountain aboard a Banff Gondola for an unforgettable 360 degree panoramic view of the Bow Valley. While here, perhaps take a chance to dine at the restaurant or take a walk out to Sanson's Peak. When you arrive back at the bottom of the mountain, make your way to the Banff Upper Hot Springs for a relaxing soak in the natural hot pools. To complete your day, enjoy a progressive dinner at 3 of Banff's most popular dining locals including the Banff Wine Store, the Maple Leaf Grill & Lounge and Giorgio's Trattoria.

DAY 3 - Banff to Lake Louise

Continuing on the theme of relaxation and sightseeing, you will travel today to Lake Louise - the Gem of the Rockies. Here you will view the magnificent sights of Lake Louise and Victoria Glacier. With many hiking trails, lakeside walks, and shopping exploration opportunities, you're sure to have a good time. This evening, enjoy romantic Afternoon Tea at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, complete with an assortment of finger foods and desserts.

DAY 4 - Lake Louise to Jasper

Another great day in the Rockies - travel from Lake Louise to Jasper along the amazing Icefields Parkway. You're sure to be enthralled by the scenery, the wildlife, the incredible blue lakes and sparkling waterfalls en route. Stop for a self-guided interpretive walk at Peyto Lake. Don't miss the Columbia Icefield Visitor Centre and a ride onto the Athabasca Glacier onboard Brewster's Ice Explorer before continuing your journey. You'll have time to discover the many shops and cafes in quiet and friendly Jasper. Later on today, head out for a relaxing soak in the Miette Hot Springs as you watch the sun set over the Rocky Mountains.

DAY 5 - VIA Rail's 'Canadian' from Jasper to Vancouver

This morning is at leisure until the transfer (included) to the Jasper train station to board VIA Rail’s “Canadian” for a romantic journey through the Rockies to Vancouver. This experience with its award-winning service is luxury on rail, and yours to enjoy aboard a Romance Suite aboard the train. Points of interest include Hell’s Gate (gorge), Suicide Rapids in the North Thompson Canyon, and the Cisco Tunnels above the Fraser River. Dinner is included onboard the train this evening.

DAY 6 - Arriving in Vancouver

A continental breakfast is included onboard VIA Rail this morning. Arrival at the Vancouver Pacific Central Station is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Arrival in Vancouver ends your Canadian Rockies Romance vacation.
