ITINERARY:

DAY 1 - VIA Rail's 'Canadian' from Edmonton to Jasper

Depart this morning from Edmonton on VIA Rail (comfort seating - lunch not included) for the alpine town of Jasper, situated in Alberta's Rocky Mountains. Arrive in Jasper early afternoon for a transfer to your hotel, and an evening at your leisure.

DAY 2 - Sightseeing in Jasper

Jasper, fascinating in beauty and history, is set amid some of the most rugged peaks in the Rockies. Today's 4-hour excursion encompasses the area's outstanding features including the mystical Medicine Lake, and Maligne Canyon, with its narrow gorge and limestone walls falling 50 metres to the floor below.

DAY 3 - Jasper to Banff Sightseeing

Travel south on the Icefield Parkway with an opportunity to ride the famous Ice Explorer onto the Athabasca Glacier, and view the displays at the Columbia Icefields Interpretive Centre. Continue on to famous Lake Louise for a brief stop, with a late afternoon arrival in Banff.

DAY 4 - Exploring Banff

Today Discover Banff on a 4 hour morning excursion, visit Bow Falls, Surprise Corner, Tunnel Mountain, soar above the clouds on the Banff Gondola to the summit of Sulphur Mountain. Then take in even more sights as you cruise along Lake Minnewanka. The remainder of the day is yours to continue exploring Banff.

DAY 5 - Departing Calgary

Choose from a morning or afternoon transfer to Calgary International Airport or Calgary city centre to conclude your vacation.
