A chance is also available for you to enjoy a meal or dessert at the onsite restaurant.
DAY 2 - Discovering Jasper and Cruising on Maligne Lake
Today, you'll have a chance to see the stunning mountain vistas of Jasper National Park aboard a luxury Brewster motor coach. Your introduction to Jasper will encompass Medicine Lake, Maligne Lake and Maligne Canyon. Board a 1.5 hour interpretive boat cruise heading towards the south end of Maligne Lake. Stopping at Spirit Island, you will have the opportunity to take photographs. Maligne Valley exhibits natural wonders including a disappearing lake and the most extensive system of karst topography in world (limestone with sinkholes, underground streams and caverns). These stories are tied together through the early natives, explorers and adventurers who opened up this area of the Canadian Rockies. The afternoon is yours to relax or continue exploring.
DAY 3 - Trekking Maligne Canyon
Join your guides on a walk along the edge of Maligne Canyon today, the deepest accessible canyon in Jasper National Park. Your guide will transport you from Jasper to the top of the canyon and guide you from the first to the sixth bridge, allowing for breath taking photographic opportunities. You will enjoy award winning interpretation about this limestone slot canyon, and the many mysteries that are contained within. The Maligne Canyon is a favorite haunt of the Big Horn Sheep and Mule Deer and is excellent habitat for Fairy Slipper and Rattlesnake Plantain Orchids. Upon reaching the sixth bridge, the confluence of the Maligne and Athabasca Rivers, a van will be waiting to return you to your Jasper accommodation. This evening, enjoy a delicious 3 course dinner at Evil Dave's Grill. Your meal will consist of an appetizer, a main course (beef, chicken and vegetable options) and a dessert.
