DAY 2 – Calgary to Waterton

Travel south from Calgary today into foothills country. Pass through the ranching town of Pincher Creek with an array of high-tech windmills before broaching the mountains at Waterton National Park. The remainder of the afternoon is yours to explore this beautiful and tranquil park.

DAY 3 – Exploring Waterton

A full day to explore Waterton and area, with an optional side-trip to Montana's Glacier National Park. Waterton is a wildflower paradise with many scenic drives, hikes and strolls. This afternoon board the International Boat for a breathtaking interpretive tour of Waterton Lake.

DAY 4 – Waterton to Many Glacier

Today you will travel across the United States border into the State of Montana. Please allow yourself enough time to comfortably clear customs. Since this an International Border Crossing, please ensure that you have the proper documentation, including your passport, and visa if applicable. After crossing the border and arriving in Many Glacier, the afternoon is yours to discover this beautiful area where the American and Canadian Rocky Mountain Ranges meet.

DAY 5 – Exploring Many Glacier

Today is a free day to enjoy the breathtaking surroundings of Glacier National Park. Perhaps a hike on one of the many surrounding hiking trails might be a great idea today, or possibly a journey to the Trail of the Cedars. This is a paved pathway, which makes for an easy enjoyable walk.

DAY 6 – Many Glacier to Lake MacDonald

Today you will travel from your hotel in Many Glacier, to Lake MacDonald. On your way, be sure to enjoy the Going-to-the-Sun Road. Travelling on the Going-to-the-Sun Road is sure to be a highlight on your trip. Be sure to look for the Weeping Wall, which is exactly that, a wall of rock with waterfalls running down the sides! Be sure to roll up your windows so you don’t get wet! Also be sure to stop at the Logan Pass Visitor Centre – the Top of the World!

DAY 7 – Exploring Lake MacDonald

Today is a free day to enjoy in and around the Lake MacDonald area. Lake MacDonald is the longest and deepest lake in Glacier National Park. Today might be a great day for another peaceful walk in this stunning area. Also, be sure to visit the Apgar Visitor Centre to learn more about the Kootenai Indians who would hold ceremonies on the shore of Lake MacDonald.

DAY 8 – Lake MacDonald to Calgary

Today, you will travel through Glacier National Park towards the Canadian Border. Be sure to leave yourself enough time for a comfortable crossing, and be sure have all of your proper identification ready. After crossing back into Canada, you will travel through Southern Alberta. On the way back to Calgary, you might want to take a short side trip to Head-Smashed-in-Buffalo Jump. This is one of the World’s oldest, largest and best preserved buffalo jumps in existence. The Buffalo Jump was used by the Native People of the North American Plains for about 6000 years. It was used to herd the animals off the side of a cliff so the hunters were able to gather more carcasses than hunting them. Admission for this optional side trip is not included. From Head-Smashed-in-Buffalo Jump, continue back to Calgary for your independent departure.
