ITINERARY:
DAY 1 - Discovering Banff
Depart Calgary in the morning and travel west towards the Rocky Mountains. At your first stop at the Stoney Nakoda Resort enjoy the option of participating in either a Heli-Tour over the unbelievable sights of the Kananaskis valley or the Dreamcatcher Terra-Bus that travels into a First Nations Village and through a nearby Buffalo Paddock. You will also have time to visit the Native Heritage artifacts exhibit, and to grab a bite to eat before you continue into the town site of Banff for a short tour of the highlights in the surrounding area including stops at the Bow Falls and Surprise Corner. Following this you will head up the Banff Gondola to the Peak of Sulphur Mountain. From here look out over the path you’ve travelled from a 360 degree observation deck, or enjoy a one kilometer walk along a boardwalk to the adjoining Sanson's peak.
DAY 2 - Exploring Banff
Today is yours to explore the town and the surrounding area. Visit the countless shops that line the streets of Banff, or relax in the Upper Hot Springs on Sulphur Mountain. There is something here for everybody to enjoy.
DAY 3 - Discovering Lake Louise and the Yoho Valley
Depart Banff this morning and head to Moraine Lake and the Valley of the Ten Peaks (seasonal*). Continue to Lake Louise, the 'Jewel of the Rockies'. After a lunch break in Lake Louise (lunch included) continue on the Yoho Valley and Emerald Lake. Return in the late afternoon back to Lake Louise.
DAY 4 - Visiting Jasper
Today, journey northward to Jasper with a stop at the Athabasca Glacier. An interpretive tour onto the glacier with a Brewster Ice Explorer (seasonal*) is included. In addition to the Glacier, sights on route include Peyto Lake, Crowfoot Glacier, Athabasca Falls and wildlife. Arrive in Jasper late afternoon.
DAY 5 - Sightseeing in Jasper
Your introduction to Jasper will encompass some outstanding scenery including Medicine Lake and Maligne Canyon. Continue on your way to Maligne Lake, there you will board a tour boat and set off on a 90 minute cruise (seasonal*). Return to Jasper where the rest of the day is yours to enjoy at leisure.
DAY 6 - VIA Rail's 'Canadian' from Jasper to Vancouver
Your day is at leisure until your transfer to the Jasper train station (included), where you will board the VIA Rail train bound for Vancouver (dinner included).
DAY 7 - Arriving in Vancouver
Enjoy breakfast (included onboard) then your vacation ends upon arrival at Vancouver's Pacific Central Station in early morning.
